Plasma Cutting: Fast, Precise, Versatile

Plasma cutting uses a concentrated jet of super-heated, electrically ionised gas (plasma) to slice through conductive metals such as steel, aluminium, copper, and brass. With temperatures exceeding 20 000°C, the plasma arc melts the metal, while high-velocity gas blows the molten material away — leaving a clean, precise cut.

Why Choose Plasma Cutting?

Versatility
Plasma cutting works on metals both thin and thick. Hand-held torches can handle plates from 1 mm to 38 mm, while CNC-controlled machines can cut steel up to 150 mm thick. It’s equally effective on curved, rusted, painted, or dirty metal surfaces.

Cost-Efficiency
Operating on compressed air, plasma cutting eliminates expensive bottled gases. Faster cutting speeds, minimal rework, and higher productivity all add up to lower production costs.

Speed
Plasma cutting is significantly faster than oxyfuel, especially on thinner metals. For steel up to 25 mm thick, plasma cuts at least twice as fast, and on very thin material it can be up to 12× faster. Piercing is near-instant — a 15 mm steel plate can be pierced in under 2 seconds, compared to 30 seconds with oxyfuel.
